My Favorites From July

Happy August everyone! I always find this month to be bittersweet. Fall fashion is just around the corner, but that also means the end of summer is, too. The summer has been FLYING by this year. I think it’s because we had crappy weather for most of June – lots of rain and chilly days. Normally I’m pining for plaid skirts, knee high boots and leather jackets by now. But this year, I’m hanging onto summer as long as I can! And today, I’m sharing my favorites from July with you all!

Bardot Floral Corset Mini Dress in Violet Floral – We are starting off this post with a bang. This dress I bought at the tail end of July on a quick trip to the outlets. I rarely find things at the Saks Off Fifth near me. When you walk in, it often feels like they’re going out of business because of how little merchandise they have. But, on this occasion, I found an absolute gem! This is one of the most gorgeous dresses I have ever worn – and that’s saying a lot considering I wear them all the time. I’ll have a dedicated blog post on this beauty very soon, but you’ll just have to trust me for now. It. Is. Perfection.

Old Navy Aviator Sunglasses – I never understood the need to spend more than a few bucks on sunglasses. Sure, designer sunglasses can be a lot more intricate in design. But in terms of function, I’ve never noticed a significant enough difference in pure quality to justify the price. I think aviators look the best on me. They’re classic and simple with the metallic frames adding the right amount of detail. I’ve been wearing this Old Navy pair all summer, and they’ve served me well. It was especially sunny this July in Pittsburgh, so they came in handy often. They’re on sale right now for under $4. That’s a steal!

JustFab Esmie Block Heeled Platform Sandal – This favorite is a double-edged sword. I actually really dislike JustFab as a brand. You have to sign up and agree to monthly “credit” purchasing (or manually skipping by a certain date), and they make it a literal pain to cancel. If you don’t skip that month’s credit in time, you get charged $40 that you can spend whenever on a pair of shoes. Needless to say, I forgot to cancel and racked up a few credits. I decided to try these trendy raffia block heeled sandals because they were technically “free” as I’d already paid the upfront cost. And as much as I hate JustFab, I really like these shoes. They’re super comfortable, very sturdy and they look amazing with my dresses. They look and feel far more expensive than they actually are, too.

Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Bow Mini Bag – This was last year’s birthday present from my sweet boyfriend via Fashionphile. It’s the most gorgeous clutch bag in a rich leather with a darling bow detail. I recently got to bring it out again when we attended the National Aviary’s charity Night In The Tropics event. We had such a fabulous time. We’re both massive lovers of the Aviary and hold it close to our hearts for various reasons. It was so fun to spend the evening there eating some delicious local food, sipping unique cocktails and taking in the exhibits after dark. This bag was the perfect accessory to bring along. It’s sophisticated, sleek and doesn’t take up too much space.

Amazon 8-Pack of Claw Clips – I feel like claw clips have become the new bobby pins for me. I am constantly buying them. And as soon as I do, they disappear! I literally think there is a claw clip black hole in my apartment, because I don’t understand where they go. I’ve really liked being able to sweep my hair up into a clip during the hottest parts of the day. So I am constantly reaching for a claw clip to get the job done. I purchased this 8-pack of colorful clips during Prime Day, and so far so good! I haven’t lost one yet. Let’s see if that’s still true next month lol.

Tide To Go Instant Stain Remover – One fun fact about me is that I’m very particular about my clothes. I do not like staining anything. And if I do get a spot on something, it kind of ruins by day LOL. As bad as it is, I can’t help it’. It’s something I need to address right away when it happens, or it seriously bugs me. These Tide To Go sticks have become a lifesaver for my clothing peace of mind. I carry one in my handbag with me now at all times. The best part is that they actually work!! They’re little sticks of pure stain removing magic. I’ve had to use them a few times over the month, and each time I’m even more impressed than the last at how well they take care of my clothes. I will be rebuying these for forever.

Kirkland’s Soft Angle Wine Glasses – I’ve linked the soft blue color (which I think is gorgeous), but I actually own them in a jewel-tone set that was available over Christmas. These are just the most darling, statement-yet-affordable wine glasses I’ve found. They’re such good quality and look incredibly elegant at a dinner seating. I honestly pour any kind of alcoholic beverage into these wine glasses, which is probably frowned upon. But they’re so pretty that I can’t help myself. If you wait for a good sale too, you can even get them for 50% off, making them a total steal.

Charo Ruiz Nina Floral Broderie-Anglaise Cotton-Blend Dress – I have a trip to Florida planned at the end of this month and have been on the hunt for some cute but light dresses to bring. If you’ve ever been to Florida in August, you will know that it is extremely hot and humid. My strategy is to always wear as little as possible to avoid extra heat. Charo Ruiz has always been a brand on my radar, but their pieces are definitely expensive. I was so excited when I found this gorgeous broderie mini dress for a fantastic sale price on Matches Fashion. It fits like a dream and just looks so elegant. The cotton is so lightweight, and the bodice is actually unlined for the most part. I’m planning on wearing it to dinner while I’m away, and I can’t wait!

Lululemon Hotty Hot High Rise Short 4” in Lilac Smoke – How pretty are these running shorts? I run almost exclusively in the Hotty Hot 4” shorts. The length is perfect, the fit is comfortable but not too loose, they’re super lightweight and you can tighten them at the waistband. I’m very picky about my running shorts, and nothing else I’ve tried have lived up to these. Plus, they wash extremely well. Whenever I see a new color that I love, I automatically buy them just because of how much wear I get out of my collection with workouts. This beautiful lilac shade was no exception, and I’ve been running in them all month long. Definitely a favorite!
