22 Favorites From 2022

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful, fun and safe holiday. I know we just got to 2023, but I wanted to take a second and travel back in time to 2022 to share some of my favorites from throughout the year. I did this post last year, as well, and wanted to keep up with the tradition!

These are 22 of my favorite makeup, skincare products, clothes, accessories, and other random bits that I loved the most out of 2022. Everything I am mentioning in this post gets a whole-hearted stamp of approval as being worth the money, time, effort, etc. I hope you enjoy!

Farmacy Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner with Moringa + Papaya – 2022 has definitely been the year that I’ve focused a lot more on skincare. I’ve developed a routine that works for me and has helped give me the clearest skin I’ve ever had in my life. Part of that routine is this toner by Farmacy. Something about it just makes your face feel so fresh after using it. My pores are tighter, any oil or residue is gone, and the BHA helps to fight acne and clogged pores. I repurchased this a few times in 2022 and plan to keep buying it in 2023!

Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth BHA + AHA Salicylic Acid Serum – This is another skincare product that I just cannot see myself living without. If my collection disappeared tomorrow, I’d go out and repurchase this serum immediately. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, the Glow Recipe Strawberry Smooth serum is a holy grail must-try. It hydrates your skin while smoothing the appearance of pores, clearing breakouts and fighting any deep buildup. Plus, it smells amazing

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wand – The hype surrounding this contour wand is 100% deserved. It is basically impossible to get your hands on it because of how viral it’s been on social media, but if you happen to snag one, it’s worth the price. This is everything you want out of a bronzer. It’s glowy, doesn’t have an orange undertone, blends like a dream and makes you look like you just got back from a tropical vacation. The formula sits beautifully on the skin and has a sort of blurring effect. It’s incredibly good.

Glossier Stretch Concealer – I have yet to find a concealer for the under eye area that is as hydrating, dewy and easy to blend as this one from Glossier. It doesn’t settle into fine lines and has a fantastic brightening effect to eliminate dark circles and redness. I’ve tried virtually every popular concealer – including the NARS Creamy Concealer – and none can compare. The Glossier Stretch Concealer is criminally underrated and one I’ll be repurchasing all year long.

Dior Addict Lip Glow – In a surprise to absolutely no one, the Dior Lip Glows have made it into my top favorites for 2022. I’ve been singing the praises of this product all year long, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. If you love glowy, hydrating, translucent color that looks fresh, you will love the Lip Glows. They’re a balm-lipstick hybrid that are glossy on the lips and wear away to a flattering stain. I own about seven different shades of this product – that’s how good it is.

Maison Margiela ‘REPLICA’ Beach Walk Perfume – This scent has by far been my favorite fragrance of 2022. I’ve talked about it before on my blog, and there’s something about it that just keeps me hooked. If you love the beach, you’ll adore this perfume. It smells like the most gorgeous and alluring combination of ocean salt, warm sunshine, fresh coconut and a spray of sunscreen. It’s a vacation inside a bottle. I have the full-size version as well as a travel spray so I can take it everywhere with me.

MAC Dervish Lip Liner – MAC used to be my favorite makeup brand in the world about a decade ago. So it feels like returning back to my roots by including this lip liner as one of my favorites for 2022. But, it’s rightfully earned it’s spot. Dervish is the ultimate “my lips but better” shade. It’s slightly pink, slightly nude and fully flattering. The pencil defines your lips without tugging or scratching, and the color lasts forever. It doesn’t dry out your lips and helps anything you layer over top of it to pop. I’m almost to the point where mine can’t be sharpened anymore, and I’m 100% repurchasing as soon as that happens.

Dae Monsoon Moisture Mask – I just finished my full-size tub of this hair mask, and I’m so delighted that I have a backup ready to go. This mask is incredible. I like to use it when I take a bath for an ultra luxurious experience. This hair mask is hydrating (as the name suggests) and leaves your hair so soft, it’s like you just walked out of the salon. It also noticeably reduces frizz and adds some shine to your locks without weighing your hair down or appearing greasy. It is perfection.

Lululemon Court Rival High Rise Skirt – I absolutely lived in these skorts from Lululemon all spring and summer long. They’re the perfect combination of comfy and cute. When you want an athleisure look that’s a little more feminine, flirty and fun, the Court Rival Skirt is the ultimate choice. I pair them with an Align Tank, some sneakers or easy sandals, and I’m good to go. They’re great for popping out to lunch, stopping by the grocery store, going to a baseball game or taking a walk in the park. It’s a do-it-all piece for your wardrobe, especially if you like to be a little more casual on the daily.

Reformation Linen Dresses – Some of the best investments I’ve made in my wardrobe have been linen midi dresses from Reformation. I’ve owned several styles over the years, and they’re all fantastic. They’re such high quality garments that look so effortlessly beautiful. You can dress them up or dress them down for any occasion. The silhouettes are always classic and flattering so they don’t go out of style. And they last. There’s no worry that they’ll fall apart after the first wear. When I want to feel pretty but I’m not sure what to put on, I reach for a Reformation linen midi dress. It never fails.

Amazon Wicker Handbag – This very well may be my number one favorite thing from all of 2022! I discovered this handbag on Amazon last winter and was blown away by how much I loved it. Not only is it absolutely adorable, but the quality is awesome for the price. It looks so much more expensive than it is. I must have worn this bag 50 times over the summer and paired it with dozens of outfits. No matter how I styled it, this wicker bag worked flawlessly. It’s a no-fuss accessory that you can bolt out the door without a second thought and look fabulous every time. I still love it as much as the day it first arrived!

Few Moda – I decided to take the plunge and try Few Moda after seeing it all over my social media feeds for weeks. Guys, I am so glad I did. I still think it’s one of the best kept secrets for online shopping. I have a full review here on Few Moda, but it’s basically a site where you can get high quality clothes from brands sold at places like Shopbop for a fraction of their retail price. I’ve loved everything I tried – especially this corset-style floral dress. It’s an affordable way to build your closet with beautiful, quality, compliment-worthy pieces that make you feel amazing.

Miu Miu Mary Janes – I feel like these are my princess shoes. Every time I wear them, I feel so fabulous. I found them on The Real Real, and they’re from the 2016 fall collection. 2016 was one of my favorite years ever, so it makes these Mary Janes feel even more special. They’re one of the most beautiful and unique pieces in my wardrobe. Just by holding them, you can tell how incredibly they are crafted. I’ve gotten so much wear out of them in 2022, and you can hardly tell looking at the shoes. I can’t wait to keep styling them into 2023.

Mango Trench Coat – I never owned a trench coat prior to this one from Mango. What was I thinking?? A trench is such a classic, chic piece of outerwear and is an absolute necessity in any wardrobe. It is perfect for spring and fall. You instantly look ten times more put together when you pop a trench coat over the top of whatever you’re wearing – even if it’s leggings and an old sweatshirt. I was able to snag my Mango coat for under $100 during a sale, and it’s been worth every penny.

Tory Burch Roxanne Earrings – I debated purchasing these earrings for MONTHS. They’re kind of expensive, so I didn’t know if they would be worth it or not. I’m happy to report that they are 10000% worth the money, and I’ve gotten more wear out of them than I ever imagined. They add the most elegant touch of sparkle to any outfit. They’re a statement in the best way, and they look so much more expensive than they were. I think they’re my favorite piece of jewelry that I own!

Chloe Mini C Bag – I originally purchased this bag in 2020, so it’s nothing new in my wardrobe. But I wore it a ton in 2022 and continue to love it as much as the day I bought it. The purple somehow adds a pop of color to my outfits while also acting as a neutral to help tie things together. The leather is beautiful and doesn’t show wear from its dozens and dozens of times of use. The gold “C” hardware is modern and minimalist. The Mini C bags aren’t popular anymore, and you can find bunches of them secondhand. But it goes to show that you should invest in luxury bags you love and not just what’s popular – because my love for the Mini C is still going strong.

Stanley 40 Oz Tumbler – To be fair, I only got a Stanley cup a few days ago on Christmas. But also to be fair, I have used it non-stop since. I gave into the hype on this one, and I’m soooo happy I did. My water intake has increased dramatically. I honestly think it’s the straw that helps you drink all day long. The handle is great, and I love that I don’t have to refill the tumbler every five seconds because of how large it is. I thought I would enjoy the cup, but I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do. It’s an instant favorite for this year.

Claw Clips – Another product I gave into the hype on is a claw clip. I got my hair cut in October and had some face framing layers put in. I popped by target the same night and picked up a claw clip on a whim now that I had some shorter pieces around my face. I was instantly obsessed. I use it constantly now, and I got a set of pretty gold ones for Christmas. A claw clip is so much better than throwing my hair back into a ponytail because it doesn’t give me any headaches. I also think it looks a lot chicer, too. Definitely a favorite of 2022!

Pink Velvet Chairs – My boyfriend and I redecorated our apartment earlier this year. We were still rocking mismatched hand-me-down furniture and IKEA pieces that were falling apart. While there’s nothing wrong with that, we definitely felt it was time for an upgrade. We bought a lot of new furniture, but my personal favorite has been these pink velvet chairs. They’re basically my dream chairs – feminine, elegant and a touch art deco. They add a lot of color and joy to our living room, and I’m so impressed with how they’ve held up nearly a year later. They still look brand new despite daily use. I would definitely repurchase them again.

Going to the Movies – This one isn’t a specific product, but going to the movies has been a massive highlight of 2022. My boyfriend, his brother and I have movie dates several times per month. We’ll go to our favorite theater, order some popcorn and watch whatever the latest release is. When the movie is over, we compile it into a an overall list to rank our favorites. It’s a blast. We saw 21 movies in 2022, so I’m shooting for 22 in 2023!

Ice Cream Cones – This one is also silly, but I absolutely love ice cream. There’s nothing better than getting a sweet treat in the summertime, and every ice cream cone I had in 2022 has been a favorite for my entire year. I typically order a twist with rainbow sprinkles if it’s soft serve, or chocolate chip in a waffle cone if it’s hard ice cream. I’m already dreaming of the first warm day in Pittsburgh, because the first thing I’m doing is getting ice cream!

NFL RedZone – And to round out my favorites, this one probably seems off-the-wall. I’m actually in a fantasy football league with my dad, boyfriend and his dad, and it is so much fun. Unfortunately, my season didn’t go so great this year, and I missed the playoffs. But every single week since September, we have spent Sunday glued to our teams to see how our players were performing in the games that day. NFL RedZone basically flips back and forth between every team about to score, so you never miss any of the action. There are so many games on at once that it can get overwhelming figuring out what to watch. NFL RedZone makes it easy to keep track by showing you all the plays that matter. I love it!!
