I’ve talked about pieces I’ve purchased from Few Moda a few different times over the past couple of weeks on the blog. Today I wanted to bring you a more in-depth, unsponsored review of the brand in case you were curious or were looking to place an order but didn’t know much about it. So, here’s my honest Few Moda review – is it legit? Or is it a scam?
I first learned about Few Moda on Instagram because I kept receiving their targeted ads. I am automatically skeptical of any product ads that are on my Instagram because they always seem to be dropship stores based in Asia with high prices and questionable quality. I thought Few Moda was going to be a similar deal, especially after seeing that a lot of their dresses looked like Reformation dupes. It wasn’t until I heard pretty glowing reviews from a few women in a Hill House Home Facebook group I joined that my interest was piqued enough to investigate further.
I was quite surprised at what I found once I gave the website a real look, and I made my first purchase the same day.
Few Moda states that it is an at-cost retailer. Every week, you can shop brand new arrivals that bypass the middleman – and therefore the markups – that traditional stores have. Few Moda says that this ends up saving you 50% to 80%, or an average of $712 annually. What’s even better is that the clothes Few Moda sells on its website are produced at the same manufacturers that brands such as Reformation, Alice & Olivia, Chloe, Tularosa, Faithfull The Brand, Sea, Aritzia, Free People, Zimmermann, Ganni and more use.
So the reason that all those Instagram ads looked like Reformation dupes was because they literally are Reformation dupes, made at the same manufacturer using the same patterns.
The actual brands available on Few Moda are lesser known, mainly Opt and Kourt. But they might not be as unknown as you think. Opt is actually sold regularly at Shopbop, and for full price. This is a great picture of the true savings Few Moda brings you. Take for example, this Tuscany dress. It’s $169 at Shopbop, but $69 at Few Moda.
You might be thinking, how does Few Moda even make any money selling clothes from some of the most popular manufacturers at more than 50% off? That’s where the caveat comes in – in order to have access to shop the styles on Few Moda, you have to purchase a membership.
There are two memberships available. One is a membership that breaks down to $13 a month but is billed quarterly for $39. And one is a membership that breaks down to $10 a month but is billed annually at $120. I chose the quarterly membership because it was my first time ordering from the site, and I wasn’t sure if I was going to love it. Memberships include free shipping and returns. You can also cancel, pause or delay the membership at any time.
Few Moda says that 93% of customers break even from the membership on their first purchase, and I think that’s totally true. Take Tuscany dress example from above. If you choose a quarterly membership to try Few Moda out, that Tuscany dress would cost you $108 ($69 dress + $39 membership fee). That would still be saving you $61 over buying it at Shopbop for $169. Free returns also means you can try things that catch your eye without having to commit to them fully at the time of purchase.
After ordering a couple of different times now from Few Moda, I think I can speak enough to the quality of the clothing. In my opinion, it’s pretty fantastic for the price. Most dresses range from $50 to $80. They also sell a large selection of tops, skirts, knitwear, denim and more. Every item I’ve received has been well-made, lined, very flattering, and true to size. I’m typically a 6/medium, and that’s what I order from Few Moda. The dresses look and feel much more expensive than their under $100 price tags. You can also easily find Reformation, Hill House and Zimmermann dupes. I’ve done blog posts on the Ezra dress and the Tiffanie dress, both of which have been staples in my early spring wardrobe.
The dress I am wearing in this post is the Cotton Peasant Dress in the blue and white floral. It feels like something I could have purchased at Reformation for $250 instead of just paying $54 for it through Few Moda. The fabric is a well-structured 100% cotton poplin. It’s incredible for the price. It feels immaculate. If I were to pay the $122 retail price that the dress would be if it was at Shopbop, I would still think it was amazing for the price. I will be wearing this all spring and summer, no doubt.
Bottom line, I think Few Moda is absolutely worth the membership and is one of the best hidden-gems of online shopping at the moment. This is especially true in two specific scenarios. One – you saw an Opt dress you want on Shopbop for full price. It will always save you money to pay the membership fee and buy it on Few Moda, as the dresses are never more than $80 by themselves. Two – you see numerous styles you want to try from Few Moda, and you think you will be ordering from them again in the near future. The more orders you think you will place will obviously maximize the most value out of your membership fee.
