Happy May everyone! I know they say Memorial Day at the end of the month is the unofficial start of summer. But Pittsburgh seems pretty far from that at the moment! It’s a very chilly 45 degrees today with gloomy rain most of the week. I’m going to stick with a springtime state of mind anyways in this post because I wanted to share a few little white dresses that I think will be perfect for when the weather does finally turn warm and sunny.
A little white dress is to spring and summer what a little black dress is to fall and winter. It’s flattering on virtually anyone, incredibly versatile, a must-have wardrobe staple, a blank canvas that can be transformed for any sense of style and available with hundreds of options in virtually every price range.
There’s something simple and chic yet effortlessly special about a little white sundress in the middle of May or June. The color itself will keep you cool by reflecting the sun’s rays off of you. Most LWDs are never too casual nor too formal, either, making them a no-brainer choice for getting dressed in the morning.
Because of how understated they are, you can build any accessories around your little white dress. My dress is from H&M (and under $20!). I chose to style it with a two-tone pink Ferragamo bag and blushy nude slide sandals. But I could have just as easily worn it with Veja sneakers and a trench coat. Or espadrille slides and a big beach tote bag. Or even ballet flats and a structured bag!
