My Favorites From April

I am so excited for May. I’ve got tons of fun things lined up this month – baseball games, concerts, vacation. Now only if the weather would get on the same page in Pittsburgh! It’s still freezing and rainy. Today, I wanted to take a brief step back to last month to chat about all my favorites from April. This is a monthly series I’m sharing on my blog, and you can check out my favorites from February here and my favorites from March here.

Tanologist Daily Glow Hydrating Gradual Tan Lotion – This is by FAR the best gradual tan lotion I have ever used. I will never go to another tanning product again and will repurchase this lotion a million times over. It’s super affordable at under $14, and it works. It’s almost foolproof but tans effectively. This product is a colorless serum-lotion that is very easy to apply. Simply rub a thin layer like you would any other lotion onto your arms, legs, etc. Then, the tan develops in about 24 hours. You have the opportunity to customize how dark you want your tan to be. Want it darker? Apply another thin layer. I typically apply the lotion for 3 days straight. That gives me the perfect golden glow that’s not too dramatic, orange or fake-looking. The tan also lasts 3 or 4 days too before I feel the need to reapply again.

J. Crew Palermo Smocked-Waist Mini Dress in Liberty Thorpe Hill Fabric – I cannot believe that I scored this dress for under $35. It’s still currently on sale for an extra 60% off with code SALEONSALE – and it’s worth every penny! I only got it in the mail last week and have already worn it three different times. It’s the perfect workhorse dress for my spring wardrobe. It’s feminine, it’s flattering, it’s comfortable and it’s floral. We’ve been having chilly weather in Pittsburgh, and it’s so nice that this dress has longer sleeves. The fabric, though, is light enough that you wouldn’t be too hot during warmer days. It’s a must-buy if you haven’t already!

MAC Cosmetics Lipliner in Dervish – This is the *best* lipliner ever. I’ve been reaching for it even more than usual lately. I like to pair it under my Dior Lip Glow Oil in Coral. The formula is wear-proof without being too sticky or too drying. It’s a flattering pink-nude that works on most skin tones and with most lipsticks. Any time you see me with a lip product on, Dervish is what I’m wearing underneath it.

Amazon Raffia Earrings – I absolutely adore these earrings. I’ve been wearing them a ton this month, and they’re just great. These raffia earrings are super light on your ears, are very inexpensive and look great with virtually any outfit. I like that they’re a statement and a basic all at the same time thanks to the neutral tan shade. But if color is more your thing – there’s at least a dozen to choose from. These are perfect for any vacation or would make a fun gift, too!

Dior Lip Glow Oil in Coral – It might be the millennial in me showing, but I will love a coral lip until the day that I die. It’s just so perfect for spring and summer. A good coral lipgloss immediately puts me right on the beach in my mind. I’m a huge fan of the Dior Lip Glow Oils, and the coral shade did not disappoint. I layer it over my Dervish lipliner for a pinky coral look that gives 2012’s cooler, older sister vibes.

Beach by Matisse Double Band Jute Platforms – I snagged these raffia slides at Marshall’s at the beginning of the month. I absolutely love them. They look fabulous paired with all my summer dresses, and I think they’re going to be super cute paired with swimwear, too. I took some upcoming blog photos in these shoes, and that’s what solidified them as a favorite. The style looks far more expensive than they actually are (under $35!). They’re very comfortable, as well. This is going to be a sandal I’m constantly reaching for in the next few months. Get them if you’re interested before they sell out!

Dae Prickly Pear Hair Oil – I absolutely love the Dae brand and everything they make. I picked this hair oil up during the Sephora sale, and it’s already a massive winner. I have hair that gets frizzy at times – especially with summer humidity. Adding a pump of the Prickly Pear Hair Oil to my damp hair after I was it has been a game-changed. My hair is significantly smoother, softer, shinier and less frizzy when I use it compared to when I don’t. And bonus – it smells incredible. This is going to be a favorite all season long.

Staud Tommy Beaded Bag in Multi Garden Party – This was one of my purchases from the recent Shopbop sale. I’ve had my eye on the Staud beaded bags for a while but kind of debated back-and-forth if they were worth it. The sale price enticed me enough to try, and I can confirm that they are even better in real life. This bag is a work of art. It’s simultaneously delicate and quite sturdy for a purse that’s beaded entirely by hand. The design is just stunning in person, and it pops against a white dress. I’ve worn it a few times and received a compliment each time on how beautiful it is. This is the type of bag that is a unique statement piece in your wardrobe for years to come.
