Happy Barbie day to all who celebrate! I haven’t been this excited to see a movie in a verrrry long time. And that’s coming from someone who is at the movie theater at least a few times a month. All things Barbie have been taking over the planet the last few weeks, and I could not be happier about it!
Whoever the marketing team is for this movie deserves a raise because they have been on their A-game. From behind-the-scenes looks at the set, press tour videos with media outlets, red carpet outfits and more, I feel like this is going to be the best film of the year by far. It looks equal parts hilarious, thoughtful and impeccably stylish.
I love that everyone else has also caught Barbie fever, too, because it’s given me the perfect excuse to bust out all the pink in my wardrobe. Pink is one of my favorite colors to wear and to see others wear because it’s such a happy shade. It makes everyone look a little more alive and adds some vivacity to their skin.
I’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to wear this gorgeous hot pink floral midi dress I picked up from J. Crew a few weeks ago. What could be a more fitting occasion than Barbie? I certainly can’t think of one.
I snagged this dress on sale for an extra 50% off the clearance price, and it was so worth it! It’s an exceptionally high-quality dress. The fabric is thick and luxe without being too heavy. The skirt is full and lovely with pockets. And the silhouette is a classic style that will never be off-trend.
I debated whether or not this dress maybe didn’t flatter my hip region that much as I have a bit of a wide frame to begin with. But then I thought, Barbie would never say that! So I wore it anyway for these photos, and I’m so glad I did. I love it!!
Obviously I had to pair this dress with an equally pink bag and some killer, Barbie-style heels. The whole look is very me, and I’m definitely going to bring it on an upcoming trip to Florida.
Plus as an added bonus, I feel like Barbie would totally wear this dress, too. I can picture Vacation Barbie pulling this out of a super cute vintage pink suitcase on a tropical trip to Hawaii. I think I’d definitely be a Vacation/Beach Barbie if I had to choose. Sunshine, sand and water all day long? Sign me up!
