Quilted Jackets For Fall And Winter

Anthropologie Jacket / Factory J. Crew T Shirt / J. Crew Jeans / Gucci Flats / Kate Spade Bag / Brinker + Eliza Necklace

Happy November!! The holiday season is officially right around the corner. And unfortunately, that means so is winter weather. Temps have already started cooling down significantly in Pittsburgh, and I’ve found myself reaching for coats and jackets almost on the daily now. I’ll miss the warm and sunny days, but I also can’t lie. I’m sooooo excited for the festivities of the next couple of months, even if it means bundling up to enjoy them. Today I wanted to share some of my favorite quilted jackets for fall and winter with you all.

Quilted jackets are one of the cutest trends this cold weather season, in my personal opinion. They’re relaxed, they’re feminine, they’re very easy to style, and they add a bit of cozy flair to any outfit. I have especially been drawn to the versions that have fun, exaggerated collars that bring some visual interest to an otherwise simple look.

Just like the one I’m wearing in these photos. 😊

The quilted jacket I’m wearing in today’s post is the Mable Exaggerated-Collar Quilted Cropped Jacket from Anthropologie, and it’s under $140. I originally began my hunt for one of these coats after seeing Hill House’s version that they released with their fall collection. It’s a beautiful piece of outerwear, but I wasn’t looking to spend over $200 on something that is more of a trend piece in my closet.

I went back and forth before deciding to order the one from Anthropologie because of the reviews. A lot of people said it was far too boxy and just looked odd on the body. I took a chance anyways, and I’m so glad I did! It’s perfect and just what I was hoping it would be. This jacket is a super soft cotton quilted material with large tortoiseshell buttons, front pockets and a statement, frilled collar. I did size down to a small, and I think it fits perfectly. I’m 5’9” with a longer torso, and the hem hits right at my hip.

I wanted something that could dress up a more “blank canvas” look like the jeans and white t shirt that I’m wearing. And I think this jacket really achieves that. I love how it softens the look and just makes the jeans feel more me. This jacket would also be so cute paired with little mini dresses or layered over a sweater and mini skirt.

Because of the cotton material, this is definitely a no-precipitation piece of outerwear. Any kind of rain or snow would soak right through it. But, fall is a fairly dry season in Pittsburgh. I’ve had more than my fair share of opportunities to wear this jacket and get my money’s worth out of it. Plus, this will be an extremely useful coat come next springtime, too. I think it will be adorable layered over a floral dress with some sneakers in April. Anthropologie also typically does 30% off for Black Friday. So if you’re interested, it should be on sale in the coming weeks.
