Is there anything that screams vacation more than a jungle print? I have noticed so many new tropical-inspired clothes and accessories when browsing around online lately, and I couldn’t resist adding a few pieces to my own closet.
If you’ve read even just a few posts on my blog, you probably know that I do not shy away from a floral print. Embracing this jungle-themed trend feels like a fun, modern way to shake up my usual flora affinity in my everyday outfits. Think large frond and palm motifs, exotic birds, tropical flowers, and maybe even a prowling feline or two.
The dress I am wearing is the o.p.t Luciana dress from Few Moda. As soon as I saw it pop up on the new releases tab, I snagged it. It reminded me so much of the types of dresses Zimmermann always makes with the tie detail at the back and the cutouts at the side.
Since it’s Few Moda, the price was obviously a steal. This dress is under $60, which is a 90% (or more) savings compared to a Zimmermann dress – and both were made by the same manufacturer. The Luciana dress is beautifully constructed. It’s a linen blend fabric with lovely puff sleeves, a pleated skirt (with pockets!), and a tie back. I think the tie back provides substantial support, and I was able to wear this dress without a bra (I do have a smaller bust for reference, though). This style runs true to size, and I am wearing a medium.
My favorite thing about this dress is how flattering it is on the body. The side cutouts really emphasize your waist, and the A-line skirt gives the dress a more luxurious look. This would be a wonderful piece to wear out for dinner and drinks al fresco.
Something interesting about this dress is that it’s super trendy – side cutouts, jungle print, puff sleeves – but it’s executed in such a classic way. I don’t see this dress looking dated or out of style over the next couple of years. I’m excited for that because I will definitely be packing this for many vacations to come.
Jungle- and tropical-inspired patterns pair so perfectly with natural accessories. I think because the prints are so heavily nature-influenced that they look right at home with anything woven, wicker or light-colored leather. I’ve styled this dress with a fab pair of Amazon raffia earrings that are under $15. They come in a rainbow of colors options, though I’ve opted for the neutral pair here. For a handbag, I chose my favorite wicker bag – also from Amazon – that’s currently under $20. I’ve raved about this bag for weeks now, and it’s still my favorite.
For shoes, I’ve selected my Valentino V Logo Slide Sandals that I bought from The Outnet on sale. The warmth of the tan leather and the gold “V” details work so well with the specific shade of green that my dress is. It feels like it was made to be worn with gold. These sandals are so stunning on the foot, but I will say they are slightly uncomfortable. I’ve been wearing them with socks around the house to try to break them in more. You know what they say, though – beauty is pain.
