Abercrombie & Fitch Emerson Dress Review

Abercrombie & Fitch Emerson Wide Strap Mini Dress

This sweet little floral dress has been allllll over the internet this summer – and for good reason. If you’ve also seen it a million places online and are curious about whether or not it’s worth it, today I’m sharing my Abercrombie & Fitch Emerson dress review to hopefully answer some of your questions.

Abercrombie & Fitch dresses in general are some of my absolute favorites. They’re fairly high quality for the price, fit well, have lovely silhouettes and prints, and you can often find them on sale. The Emerson dress is no different!

The brand actually has several different dresses on their website that they call Emerson. The one that I am wearing and reviewing specifically in this post is the Emerson Poplin Wide Strap Mini Dress. “Emerson” simply is used to ID their dresses that have the same style of layered ruching/smocking at the bust.

This bodice style is available as sleeveless, short-sleeved or long-sleeved versions. You can also purchase it as a midi dress or a mini dress, and with cotton poplin, linen or polyester fabric. If you love the design, you can kind of build an entire wardrobe out of these dresses. They all belong to the same “family” but have a lot of variety in silhouette, print and fabric.

The Emerson Poplin Wide Strap Mini Dress is an absolutely gorgeous little sundress. I bought it at the beginning of the season and have gotten so much wear out of it. I actually posted on my Instagram about how often I reach for this dress, because it’s that good.

The cotton poplin is heavy and luxe without being thick or stifling. The length is youthful but not uncomfortably short. The layered smocking at the bodice is incredibly flattering and creates a sort of corset effect to the dress. It also has pockets!

This dress runs true to size. I am wearing a size medium in the regular length. I’m 5’9” but never find that I need to go up to the tall length, and that’s also the case with the Emerson dress.

It’s originally under $100, but right now it’s on clearance for under $70! I would highly recommend this dress at that price. I’m not kidding when I say I’ve worn this everywhere. I’ve picked this dress for going out to dinner, spending the day at the mall, celebrating birthdays, doing some grocery shopping, and going to appointments. I’ve also packed it away for my upcoming Florida vacation.

My favorite thing about the Emerson dress is how versatile it is. It is easily dressy enough for a special occasion like a graduation, bridal shower, anniversary celebration or baby shower. But, you can also dress it down without much effort for your every day life. I have a lot of dresses in my wardrobe. But this is one I genuinely would miss and immediately rebuy. if it disappeared tomorrow.

I hope you enjoyed my Abercrombie & Fitch Emerson dress review. Linking everything in the carousel below, and let me know if you have any other questions!
