My Early Fall Wish List

Hi everyone! This is such an exciting blog post to write. In case you missed my announcement over on Instagram, I’m engaged!! That feels so crazy to type out. This weekend has been such a whirlwind, and I still feel like I am recovering emotionally from it all. My fiancé (that feels even crazier to type) Julian and I have been together for just over 6.5 years. I honestly can’t stop staring at my ring, and I’m so incredibly excited to start planning for our life together forever.

We’re heading on a trip to Florida at the end of this week, and I’m looking forward to some relaxation. But even though I’m packing for 90+ degree temps, mentally, I’m finally ready for fall! Bring on all the plaid, boots, blazers, apple picking, football games, and pumpkin baked goods I can possibly handle. I thought it would be fun today to chat about my early fall wish list of items that have caught my eye for the cooler months that are ahead.

No matter what season it is, I always have my eye on potential dresses that I could add to my wardrobe. And fall is no different! I am in love with this sweet and flirty mini dress from Reformation. The sleeves are perfect for wearing now when the temperatures are still a bit high. And then when it starts to cool down, I can pair it with some tights and toss a blazer over the top. This is definitely one that I’m going to be purchasing at some point.

Another dress that has caught my eye is this bow-detailed Ellie nap dress from Hill House Home. I was honestly pretty underwhelmed with their pre-fall collection. The silhouettes were just okay, the prints weren’t interesting and I’m hearing a LOT of negative reviews about the fabrics they chose for this drop. Including this Ellie dress, which most people are saying feels like a shower curtain liner. It’s made of taffeta, which has a “squeakier” feeling to it. Even though the rumblings online are that this dress isn’t great, I’m still drawn in by the cut and those bow sleeves. It just looks so elegant and moody! I might wait for it to go on sale and then let me curiosity get the better of me.

Fall shoes bring me so much joy. There’s just nothing better than zipping on a fresh pair of leather boots on the first chilly day of the year or slipping your foot into a new ballet flat when the leaves start to turn on the trees. These boots from Tory Burch are calling my name. The rich burgundy color with the subtle cap toe detail are so chic and elevated, but the heel is still very walkable. And I have to be honest – I already ordered these buckle Mary Jane flats. And they are fabulous. They’re soft, comfortable and look amazing on the foot. They’re the perfect bit of edge to dress down some of my more feminine fall dresses.

Something that’s been on my wish list for a few years now is the perfect fall blazer. I’m on the hunt for one that has a very subtle plaid or checked pattern, falls long enough so I can pair it with mini skirts in a cool and relaxed way and is warm enough to double as a fall jacket. This Mango one is decently affordable for a blazer and looks to fit a lot of what I’m searching for. I’m going to order it to try out, and I’ll let you know what I think.

I haven’t seen too many handbags that I’ve been absolutely obsessed with so far. But there is ONE that stands out, and I’ve been thinking about it constantly. This glossy, top-handle mini bag from Tory Burch is just so cool. It has that ladylike shape that I absolutely adore in bags, but the patent leather in jet black adds a touch of edge. It’s chic and sophisticated without trying too hard. I like that you can wear it crossbody with the strap or carry it with just the handle. Love!

I’ll end this post here with this insane dog charm necklace from Brinker & Eliza. My family actually has three dogs – two golden retrievers named Duchess and Willow, and a chocolate lab named Daisy. I feel like it’s a no-brainer that I add this necklace to my jewelry collection. It’s called the “Must Love Dogs” necklace, and I think it would be so fun paired with a simple black dress or neutral sweater.
