Welcome to Color Crush, a new series on The Bekah Boutique that will focus on injecting bright, vivid color into your wardrobe.

For many people, wearing color can be quite intimidating. Questions can arise such as – How do you know which shades look best? What if you wear too much color? How do you pair certain colors together? Are you able to wear an outfit featuring only one color? How do you make that look nice? With this series, I hope to give you the confidence you need to bust out every shade of the rainbow and elevate your neutral daily looks.

First up is one of my all-time favorite colors to wear (and one that, personally, I don’t think gets enough recongnition): PINK. Is there a more perfect color to wear all year round? I honestly do not think that there is. Pink is just so versatile. It’s bright and happy in the summer, unexpected and earthy for fall, rosy and warm during winter and about as sweet as can be for spring.

Pink is so adaptable to your personal style, it looks good on any skin tone and you can pull it off in any situation. The color is chic, sophisticated, flirty, fun, and bubbly all at the same time. So, how do you incorporate it as a part of your wardrobe?

The key is carefully selecting your tone of pink. Are you a color novice and want to dip your toe in without going too bold? Perfect – look for blush pinks. They’re soft like a neutral tan or cream but will add a bit of life to your outfit. If you’re really hesitant, choose an accessory first for that pop of color, like a classic camera bag.

Are you used to wearing color but want to get a little more adventurous? Choose a bubblegum pink statement, such as a blazer dress or a satin halter number. And if you want to go all-out, pick fuchsia, like this stunning midi dress or satchel bag.

With pink, I am a huge fan of monochrome – or, rather, wearing just one single color throughout an entire outfit. If you are dressing monochromatic with pink, you may want to combine different shades in order to create visual interest. For example, if you’re wearing a light blush dress, you might add a dark fuchsia bag and heels for contrast. The world’s easiest way of creating a monochromatic outfit is by picking a jumpsuit and then adding on pink accessories. Voila!

Or, you may want to stick with one single tone throughout the whole outfit – especially if you are going for a dramatic look. With the look I am wearing, I’ve chosen to work pink in from head to toe. But rather than opting for solid colors, I’ve selected a pink floral print with a white background to make it a little more understated.

If you’re thinking of mixing pink with other colors, I think it always looks gorgeous when paired with red, orange, blue or even green.

This dress I am wearing is one of my favorites that I have purchased this summer. If you do not know Sezane, they are a fantastic French brand that design the most beautiful clothes. They embody that iconic French chicness and use such high-quality fabrics. I love how airy this style is – and you know how I feel about a great floral. The ties at the shoulder make this dress super adjustable, which is great for someone tall like me. I always prefer a little extra length to my mini dresses.

Sezane is a more premium-priced brand, but I think for the quality of item you receive, they are actually quite reasonable. Few items surpass $200, and the dress I am wearing is currently on sale for under $100. The best thing about Sezane is that their bi-annual sales are not final sale. So, you can pick up several items you think you may like and are still able to return the ones that don’t work out. I ordered probably four other dresses alongside this one and sent the rest back. The Anne dress was by far my favorite!

The J. Crew sandals I paired this dress with were a STEAL. I purchased them earlier in July for under $20. They are unfortunately sold out now, but this style is so similar (and under $50 after the coupon code). They’re a punchy, coral pink that I think works perfectly with the dress. I love them and can’t wait to get more wear out of them next summer, as well.
